Twin Rivers Paper Company Initiates Annual Report Direct Mail Campaign

South Portland, ME December 17, 2010 As specifiers and printers finalize paper specifications for 2010 annual reports, Twin Rivers Paper Company has launched a direct mail campaign to communicate its affordable, lightweight line-up of annual report papers.

“Annual reports are changing. Gone are the days of the heavyweight, glossy books used to build brand image. Companies are becoming more cost conscious and environmentally minded, moving to slimmer annual reports that focus on financial performance,” said Stuart Strong Jr., Publishing Product Segment Manager. “Our portfolio of annual report papers matches those changing requirements perfectly – lightweight hybrid and freesheet papers that deliver sustainability, high opacity and performance.”

To support its annual report initiative, a series of postcards are being mailed to large commercial printers and corporate annual report specifiers in November, December and January. The campaign highlights Twin Rivers’ manufacturing capability: light basis weights (19-40 lb.); a range of brightness levels (86-72); opacity (up to 93); a choice of PPIs; SFI and FSC fiber certification; and up to 30% post-consumer content.

“With our 80 year legacy of making specialty papers, we are well-known by leading financial publishers that regularly use our papers for high-volume applications,” commented Jim Gehrman, Vice President of Sales. “However, large commercial printers who use premium papers and heavier basis weights are looking to Twin Rivers to provide a spectrum of lightweight annual report papers backed by the technical expertise to ensure they perform flawlessly.”

Added Strong, “Our campaign offers a twist on the traditional marketing approach, we focus on what we don’t deliver – cost, waste, web breakage, show through, heavy basis weights and frustration. We hope the mailings prompt printers and specifiers to give us a call regarding their annual report paper needs, as we have the widest breadth of offerings in the industry.”

The direct mail campaign was printed by RR Donnelley/Andrews, Manchester, CT and designed by Alexander Isley Inc., Redding, CT.
