Update on Plaster Rock Sawmill Fire

Madawaska, ME (May 22, 2020) – Following a fire at the Twin Rivers Plaster Rock Sawmill on Friday, May 22, repairs to the affected equipment were completed over the weekend, and the mill was restarted on Monday afternoon. There were no injuries during the event. We would like to thank all involved, including mill personnel, contractors, and the Plaster Rock, Drummond and Perth Andover Fire Departments, for the quick reaction which surely made it possible to restart the mill in a timely fashion.

 

Madawaska, ME (May 22, 2020) – Twin Rivers Paper Company would like to advise the community of a fire at its Plaster Rock sawmill today. There were no injuries to Twin Rivers employees resulting from the incident. The fire started in and has been contained to chip and bark piles. The company is assessing the cause and any damages. Twin Rivers is working with all regulatory authorities, and thanks to its employees and the first responders in the community for their efforts and personal sacrifice in keeping everyone safe.
