Twin Rivers Paper Company Focuses on Employee Safety as Mills Continue to Operate

Company Committed to Easing Supply Chain Challenges with Production of Specialty Papers

Madawaska, ME (March 31, 2020) – Twin Rivers Paper Company reaffirms its focus on employee health and safety as it’s six mills operate to produce specialty papers used in critical food, hygiene, and medical applications. As the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds, the Company continues to implement safe workplace recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as federal, state, and local authorities.

Key workplace safety measures institutionalized include guidelines for physical distancing, policies for outside visitors and suppliers, standards regarding rigorous disinfection, recommendations regarding personal hygiene, and encouragement for non-manufacturing personnel to work from home. Employees receive daily coronavirus communications to reinforce the actions needed to maintain a safe working environment. The Twin Rivers Leadership Team meets regularly to adapt and evolve its policies and procedures to address the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

All six of Twin Rivers’ paper mills are operational, in support of the federal government’s declaration that the forest products industry’s products are essential in supporting the country’s infrastructure given the coronavirus outbreak. The Company continues to manufacture specialty papers for important food packaging, medical and hygiene supplies, barcode labeling, filtration applications, and crucial paper-based communications for the financial, governmental, and pharmaceutical/healthcare sectors.
